NEW YEARS EVE! REDWOOD CITY AT THE BROADWAY LOUNGE!
Weather looks good and their is a buzz for tonight's show. We set up and friends Connie, Matt, Steve, Scott are already arriving. Iris has planned a fun night and the band is ready for the midnight countdown. Amrik Sandhu on drums out on the road with the BW3 for the first time. Brian Beal on Bass! Special thanks to my long time friend Steve S. for sitting in on guitar and playing some smoking leads!

FRIDAY, JAN. 1st - SEABRIGHT BREWERY, SANTA CRUZ
Breakfast at the Top of Broadway in downtown RC. Weather looks good and we are on our way to Santa Cruz. Arriving with enough time to go to the boardwalk we park at the club and walk over to the beach. Nice and sunny and great to be here in Santa Cruz. The club is filling up with friends from Henflings in Ben Lomond and friends from the Blues by the bay festival. I am very excited to visit with my friend from high school, Janet Grey.Towards the end of loading out the gear and I talk with bartender Angel and find out she is from Visalia. The cab driver outside is telling Brian some very funny jokes as I walk up and soon we are on our way through the back roads of Monterey county. Driving East towards the 152 and the pass into Los Banos.

Amrik, Brian and I travel to Redwood City today. The place is full of friends that I know and it is a super afternoon. Just one of those days when everybody is here and it Rocks. Iris invites us to play New Years eve so we all make plans to celebrate the big event together. This bar has been a great new place to play with a stage and nice location. The toys are piled high in the containers for the Redwood City fire dept.

WISHING EVERYONE THE BEST THANKSGIVING EVER!

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 27 - LODGE AT THE FALLS, YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK
There is a possible snow storm today. Brian and I drive towards Coarsegold to pick up Karl Simmons and plan to check in around 3:30pm. We enter the park and through the fog we arrive at the very nice lodge and check in. The mountain room has a look and feel of the rugged outside complete with big center fireplace.
It is cold outside so moving the gear in and sound check everything is first. Carly is the GM for the mountain room and very nice to help us get meal comps and welcome us. Our first show is at 8:30pm so there is some time to get dinner and see our rooms. The hotel is full so as we kick into the tunes the mountain room is packed with people feeling good and excited about the holiday. Since everyone gets up early the show ends at 11pm. We are making plans to get out and hike around the valley tomorrow!

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 28 - LODGE AT THE FALLS, YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK
After a mountain breakfast of blueberry pancakes it is time to get outside. There is a tram bus system that runs throughout the park. You get on board and it takes you to all the locations you would like to see. nobody drives once you arrive in the park. It is cold outside so hiking, taking photos then into a shop, museum or the main hotel makes it easy. Brian is an experienced hike so he is hiking to the top of one of the falls. Karl is going several miles in and back on a trail as well. Tonight is a lot of fun with the everyone relaxed and joining in. This is an amazing location and full of history and natural beauty. The next morning in meet Brian at 6:30am for breakfast and we load the truck in about 30 degree weather. Karl will meet and ride with his wife who is driving in for a day trip. I am very lucky to have played here two years in a row, really love Yosemite!

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SHOWS!

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 19 - VOODOO LOUNGE / HOUSE OF BLUES, ANAHEIM
Out the door early at 8am and on my way to LA. Love V-town but still miss So. Ca. having lived there for so many years. First stop is Beverly Hills to take care of a few things like meeting with Cali Bee Music CPA Mary P. before driving to the Anaheim area to check in. Tonight Marvin Sperling is on Bass. We have worked shows together over the years and he is an excellent musician. Chris Blondal is on drums and we meet at the House of Blues around 8:30 to set up. The Voodoo Lounge is a cool bar inside the concert club and the staff that run this stage are terrific. Super nice, always fun to work this gig. Just before we start I am surprised by a good friend, Moneka Simmons is in town from Visalia. Wow! She is at a table with three of her So. Ca. friends and it is wonderful to see her. She is very cool and I get to spend time on breaks visiting along with their positive support for the band during the show! Thanks Moneka! Around 1am we are on our way out of the Disneyland area to get rest for the weekend.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20 - CLUB HOUSE BAR & GRILL, PLACENTIA
This morning I am on my way to Beverly Hills to see G.F. and pick up some amazing raisin bread. Grab some coffee, walk around and relax. Tonight Kirk is on keys and with this line up, the music will be smokin'! Later after some dinner at Hoffs Hut in Buena Park the club is crowed and the sets are easy as each musician is playing very well. At 1:30 am we load up the gear and travel. for me to be staying in Orange County it is nice to have a short drive to the motel.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 21 - CENTERFIELD BAR, HUNTINGTON BEACH
The weather has been good, no rain and just a little overcast. I found a kiosk internet station in the lobby so I can get online for a dollar. I have some stuff for sale on Ebay and it is good to b able to answer questions and keep up with fellow ebayers. I plan to do some running around Buena Park and then drive to Huntington Beach to the club. Tonight the club has a pay for view fight before the band. We get the gear through the crowd and set up. Nice place along a big street, known for good food and good times. I get a chance to talk with Paul the owner and enjoy meeting and talking about promoting a club. Not an easy business to be in! Marvin has brought his lovely girl friend tonight and it is a pleasure to visit and catch up since everyone was together last year. The band sounds excellent after three nights in a row and it is a blast to sing and play all the tunes. After the gear is on board the truck we say our goodbye's until my next visit to So. Ca. I am staying in town tonight with a mellow early drive to Visalia in the morning.
With possible snow on the Grapevine during the winter, i never know about getting in town for shows.

THE BAND IS IN THE BAY AREA.

SATURDAY, NOV. 7th - GENTLEMAN JIM'S -VALLEJO
With Drummer Larry Donawa on medical leave, Karl Simmons joins Brian and I on drums for a Bay Area show. I'm excited about working more shows in the Bay Area after many years of work in Southern California. Having grown up here it is a good feeling to return to get to know this wonderful part of California again. Visalia is the same distance from both S.F. and L.A. This allows me to work both cities. Tonight we are in the North end of the Bay at a cool club with a nice stage and big dance floor. These days times are tough and Kyle does a good job of bringing in a crowd and keeping the doors open for his many employees. The show goes well with folks coming in from a story ran by the Vallejo Hearld newspaper. By the end of the night my hands are ripping into the solos and I feel energized for the drive home. I'm feeling good about the Bay Area Blues scene, I'm going to fit in here with my style and songs. Around 4am we are in Fresno and Karl is loading his drums off the truck into his car with plans to work the Yosemite National Park shows. Being a musician is a trade and it is the same work experience all over the world.

SPECIAL HALLOWEEN SHOW!

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31 -  CROWN BILLIARDS, SAN RAMON
On a perfect weather day Oscar, Amrik and I drive to the Bay Area. The world series is on the radio and traffic is light. We pull up to Crown Billiards and set up for a fun night, a big costume party. I had worked the party last year and was excited to be booked back this year. We start rolling out the tunes and the place is filling up with lots of people. Great costumes and the room is high energy, full right until 2am. This year is bigger than last year and around 11pm and 12am Kevin and Sarah give out awards, cash prizes. Lots of fun! As I pack the gear up Sarah, Kevin and I take some photos and are all excited by the success of the event. The clocks are turned back tonight at 2am so we are back in V-town and hour early. A very fun Halloween! Photos on the Journal 09 page.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23 - VINNY'S PLACE, CHOWCHILLA
This fun club ROCKS! Vinny brings a cool Santa Barbara vibe to this local Pub. People from around town stop in and say Hi, most know someone here and visit at the bar. Pool, music, and drinks. Casual but it has everything you need. Matt Powers is on Bass tonight and Karl Simmons is on drums. We rip into the tunes and my guitar has a large sound due to the fact I'm running two amps. Both Mesa Boogie, one clean and one overdrive, mixed together for big guitar sound.
It takes awhile to know people and build a draw. Tonight is good and people stay until closing and it goes really well. Performing in a bar is a true test. Folks get close, listen and you have to prove yourself. I enjoy meeting people as well.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24 - TABLE MOUNTAIN CASINO, FRIANT
Everyone here is very pro and cool to the musicians. Great food, pro stage, full sound with Eng., just a great place to play. Amrik Sandhu is on drums, Matt on Bass and the mighty Scott Bolsta on sax, a super line up! Shows start at 6pm and playing right on the Casino's main floor you are in the action. Over the years I have learned a lot about being a musician and working smoothly. Gear, tuneing, songs, volume and pacing are just a few of the requirements to a pro gig. Years ago I was in Hollywood auditioning for record companies and presenting my original songs. It is tough to pull all the elements together, song, band sound, studio produced demo and image. I got lucky with a record deal, TV music and movie soundtrack work. All an amazing time in my life. In the end I see it was just a job like any other and not what I imagined when I moved to Hollywood. You work, produce sellable music and spend your time chasing creative goals. Each generation looks to have music that fits their time and musicians who they relate to. Most CDs don't stand the test of time, some do very well over the years. You pay a price to be held up to the public spotlight, it is streesful and hard to handel as you change year to year. Some handle it well and manage to work in the music business their whole life. Those that choose to get out and do other things with their lives, well that's a good thing too. Music can be just for enjoyment, the way it starts out for most all musicians.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17 - HOWIE'S, VISALIA
VISALIA HARLEY DAVIDSON EVENT
Kenny runs Howie's on Mooney Blvd, a long time Visalian Piazza and famous local hang out. I was glad to meet him and have a chance to play this popular spot in town. Moneka, Gary, Laurie and I stopped in on Tuesday Bike Night and the place was full of people and Harley's lined the front of the building and lot. Kenny introduced me to Rocky the girl promoter from V-town Harley D. dealership and we all made plane for the Oct. 17th show. The following Monday Larry Donawa calls on the way out of Hanford Hospital saying he wants in on the show even though he is still in recovery mode. I agree and on Saturday Brian meets me at my place and we go over to set up. Kendal and Tommy from Howie's greet us and offer to help move gear. Thanks! I bring in three amps to put out a huge stereo sound. Local gig and room on the truck. Earlier I had got a call from Big Rick he was in town with Judy on his Harley. Big Rick was up at 6am and rode in to the Central Valley on the 152 highway, stopped to visit Little rick and headed for V-Town. Big Rick was born in Hanford and has family here in town, baby niece Pam. A very cool lady. Around 7pm we fire up with the place picking up and Big Rick and Pam's family arrive. Both Pam and her fella Tim are super cool and stay the whole night with pictures taken of the whole family together. Larry plays well and at one point is kind enough to lift his shirt to show his good sized bandage from surgery. Modern medicine, one week later and he is drumming. Wow! By the end of the night it is down to just the friends and we end on a sing a long and pictures on Big Rick's Harley. I meet with Kenny who is one of the coolest people and we plan to have the band open Bike night 2010 at Howie's. Thank you Big Rick,Judy, Pam, Tim and your family. Glad to meet Rocky from V-town Harley. They have a lot of great boots over there I'm checking out. Big Rick and Judy stop by the next day on there way to the Sequoias, Riding in the Big Trees. Nice!

SUNDAY. OCTOBER 18 - ROSCOE'S, CHINO HILLS
THIS SHOW HAS BEEN POSTPONED - WE WILL POST THE NEW DATE.
Got a call the entertainment license was pulled. Club says they will have it back in a week and will reschedule.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9 - EAGLE MOUNTAIN CASINO, PORTERVILLE
Thursday afternoon I get a call from Larry's wife Kathleen that he was in the hospital recovering from a 2/12 wed. night surgery. He will not be able to work this weekend's show. Wow! He is alright but will need to take a week off. I call a top Fresno drummer Amrik Sandhu who agrees to step up and take the casino dates. Great News! Next I call LA ace drummer Chris Blondal who is free on Saturday for the Bluesapalooza show. Good news for Brian and I and at 3:30 Friday, Amrik, Brian and I drive towards Porterville. After checking in with security we are setting up and soon off to dinner. Everyone here is very nice and it makes for a great work vibe. At 8pm sharp we roll into the tunes with a cool crowd ready to boogie. Right up to midnight the place is full and everyone is having a great time. Super to be kinda close to v-town and have a great gig to look forward to. We pack up all the gear and load the truck because tomorrow we drive to Southern Ca.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10 - BLUESAPALOOZA, COVINA
With Larry Donawa in the Hanford hospital, Brian and I drive south to Covina to meet Chris Blondal and Kirk Nelson. Kirk has been on many shows with me and always plays great. Chris is new to the show but is a LA ace pro drummer.
We arrive right at 4pm and I am ready to go Bluesin'. My friends are here from So. Ca., T is here, Steve Broock, Don the keys man, Gary E. harp man and lots of people from last year's show. Jody the promoter gives us the go ahead to have some fun and Terry on sound is turning up the PA. The crowd is into it gathering closer and closer. Gary jumps in on Harp and the band plays two shows going past our 7pm deadline. Bob from Covina who is the MC asks us to do one more song and everyone in the audience agrees, let's go for it! I stop in the Rude Dog club with Steve B. and soon the van is moving through traffic towards the grapevine and on into Central California.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11 - EAGLE MOUNTAIN CASINO, PORTERVILLE
The weather is nice and we meet at my place around 3:15pm. Amrik had called saying his car broke down a few blocks from his Sunday morning church gig. Musicians get a lot of work from church's on Sundays. Brian says Larry Donawa is on his way home from the hospital on Monday and would like to drum on next weekends work. The truck pulls up to the casino and we check in. After dinner and a few sets we are red hot and are playing above usual. Wow, three days in a row plus travel and all I can think about is music. The casino is quiet compared to the Friday show, Amrik's family is here to listen and meet us. At 10pm we finish and find a shorter route home making plans for future shows. Brian will be traveling to Montana and Larry will be on a crusie with his wife soon. I will need to locate musicians to work the shows. Amrik says he will be glad to help when he can. This is great, thanks! Matt Powers on bass hopefully will help out too.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 18th - RIVERVIEW INN, THREE RIVERS
Still kinda warm here in the Central Valley as we drive up Highway 198 to Three Rivers. My family visits Visalia next weekend and I'm watching the forecast for the temps. I would like the low nineties but I don't think I will get it. We set up and settle in with mostly locals as the tourists that go to Sequoia National Park has slowed. This is very close to the Park entrance to the Big Trees. I have to say If you have not seen the Big Trees you are missing something to be checked out. They are huge! With a great group of dancers the evening goes by quickly and we drive off the mountain and about 30 minutes later home in V-Town.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 20th - BROADWAY LOUNGE, REDWOOD CITY
Iris and Billy run a great bar.Cool stage and great crowd of local people who know one another. I lived in redwood City for a few years and made some life long friends. The downtown is revamped and a nice place to just walk around with shops and places to eat. Today Brain, Larry and I drive in from V-Town and set up for the Birthday party celebration of Big Rick and his friend Judy. As soon as we pull up Scott and Lynn to very nice people from Santa Clara are already here and they have been thoughtful to bring Big Rick gifts from an adult store. The band jumps into the show and the dancing starts. Outside a BBQ is set up so it is football on the bar TV's. BBQ and Blues for dancing. A great combo for a Sunday Afternoon. Michael Buckley and his son Thomas drop by and many other friends are here to. The band is rippin' through the songs on a mellow day and just having fun. Special guest Ace drummer Rod Wilson from Monterey shows up with his date Tina to join in on the Birthday party. Larry is kind enough to let Rod sit in and he lays down some very funky drum grooves with a pro feel. I can hear the reason he works a lot.  Later the cake is brought  out and Scott and Lynn have fun with Big Rick and Judy presenting the adult gifts. I have known Scott and Lynn for a few years and they are just a super couple. After the truck in loaded with gear I say hey to Billy and Big Rick is already planning another fun afternoon here for the Holidays. Today was a blast, Special THANK You to the very charming and wonderful host Iris.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA!

THURSDAY, SEPT. 10 - VOODOO LOUNGE / HOUSE OF BLUES, ANAHEIM
Only a few days later from the Huge Blues By The bay festival I am on the way south to Anaheim for the start of four days on the road. Lots to do. First stop is in Venice to pick up Adam Gust, his drums and back in to traffic. We get a chance to visit heading south, talking about his plans to move to Denver and base himself out of Colorado. He mentions that nobody has heard from bass player Steve Mcormack he has just disappeared. After setting up with Oscar Huguet on Bass, Harp player Gary - man arrives to sit in. Gary takes public transit everywhere in LA & Orange counties. This takes time but what a savings! The show is ripping and a table of friends are here to support the show and it lights us up. Thanks! Later Adam and I drive back to Venice and Sonjia and Adam allow me to stay in the guest room. Very nice.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 11 - CAT MAN BLU, LONG BEACH
There is always lots to do when I'm in Los Angeles. After living here for so many years it is impossible to forget all the places and thngs that you make a part of day to day life. It will be that way for Visalia to. I stop for coffee and sit outside this nice cafe in Venice and wake up and get ready to make a day of stops and general get and do stuff. I spend so great meeting time with Brent who will help me build a DVD from video footage taken at the Blues by the Bay festival. Later I'm in Long Beach and meeting with Andrea who runs Cat Man Blu. This is a new club for me and after moving my gear in I have a fantastic dinner of southern food. Kirk and Oscar arrive and Sonjia and Adam join me for dinner. The show goes ok due to the fact the house PA is not that good and is turned up way to loud. I always use my PA which sounds great. In between sets I visit with people from around the world who are in Long Beach to board ships. This a famous port with many ocean going ships. After the show I drive to Venice thinking that this club is not right for me. As much as I like Long Beach harbor some of the city has a rough crowd. Kinda of old school big city. Still for a blues player it has a real vibe and this is a good.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 12 - CLUB HOUSE BAR & GRILL, PLACENTIA
Another day of stuff to do while in town. As a musician I remember the dream of being a star here in Hollywood with all kinds of people to help you. This is real for many people here with so much fame it is a tidal wave. One thing I learned living here is nothing is what it seems. Thus Hollywood. However I love So. Ca., the lifestyle and the big myth that everybody get to be a part of, if only in the weather. I always like to spend time in Beverly Hills my favorite city. Lunch there today and pick up some resin bread that is amazing. Later I am checked in near Knotts berry farm and getting set up at a fun club in the Anaheim Hills. The band is hot with Adam, Oscar, Kirk and myself working this show. Nathan runs a cool bar and the crowd is into it tonight. I am slowly building a draw here. My good friends are here tonight with support and I get to visit between shows. I usually drive home to V-town after this gig ( four hours) but tonight I am just a few exits down the freeway.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 13 - PARADISE STORE, SANTA BARBARA
A beautiful day in Southern Ca. and I'm on my way home today. I am lucky I don't tour like I once did for weeks at a time traveling around the USA. I wanted to see the country so it was fun. These days I like working on my house and spending time with my wife and cats. I have a quick breakfast and drive north to Glendale to meet Oscar. Got to sleep at 3am and up at 9am so traveling is never easy. We are meeting Sonjia and Adam in Santa Barbara at the Paradise Store. A terrific location to play music and have lunch. Today is cool in the mountains and everyone is feeling the change in season and weather. Rippin' through the tunes and the afternoon goes by quick. My hands are playing well because four days of long sets will get you way into music shape. A plus for traveling and giging. As the end of the afternoon begins Sonjia and Adam plan to spend time watching the sunset from a mountain ridge. Adam starts a US tour with the Red Elvis's and will travel for ten weeks. Oscar begins a heated court battle with his family over estate issues, his mom is sick with cancer. The gear is on board the van and I start my trek home to Visalia. Traffic is lighter than usual for Sunday, four days away and I'm looking forward to working on other projects at home. Music is only one part of my life. I think that I enjoy it more if it does not become everything. The music business is what takes the fun out of playing music. You start out enjoying playing guitar and it becomes a job like any other job. I love what I do for work, yet I try not to let it become an obsession.

 NORTHERN CALIFORNIA!

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5th - BLUES BY THE BAY FESTIVAL, EUREKA

MAIN STAGE AT 1PM
Three weeks and three huge festivals. El Dorado Hills, Napa and now on to Eureka. This is amazing. We are traveling the day before to get on site. Scott, Larry, Brian and myself drive north in the landplane. Big rick had called saying the Bay bridge is closed for repair and avoid the bay Area. With this in mind we go through Sacramento and go west at Williams. The 101 north into Eureka. After dinner I walk over to the festival stage and pass the famous mansion that was built by the redwood lumber baron. It is wicked and forboding with the full moon behind it in the night sky. Really impressive work by the builders.
Brian and I meet with Mike the stage manager and get an idea how big this event is. Huge! The next morning with a fog and drizzle start to breakfast the band heads over to the backstage to get our gear ready. Each act is laying down quality work and the crowd is into the show. Our set is greeted by a big response and the whole band is very up and excited. I get a chance to meet and greet the blues fans and do a radio interview. Just a super experience for a bar band. We have lunch and talk with Glen the promoter who booked us and Alan the festival business director. With a very up vibe we start the drive south arriving in V-Town about seven and a half hours later. This was a big show for us. Larry brought his camcorder and Stan Fleming filmed the show. I hope to post some video after editing.

 NAPA / NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

SATURDAY, AUGUST 29 - BLUES,BREWS & BBQ, DOWNTOWN NAPA
Scott Bolsta plays great sax. His wife Kelly has arranged for a nice week in Napa for the two of them to go along with this show. Brian, Larry and I leave V-Town and drive through the Bay area and into Napa to the stage. This is a super event downtown with a great line up of bands. The weather is warming up. hotter than usual so we are glad to start the show at 1pm. Plenty of water and the band rips into the songs. I had got a call from ace harp man Tumbleweed who lives in Livermore about sitting in. My answer was yes because he smokes on harp, one of the best in the state. The line up with Scott, Tumbleweed and the trio is rippin' and the crowd is into it. The fun begins and everybody has Blues Power today. After the show I do some photos and talk with folks about coming back to Napa. The trio eases out of the Bay area and into the Central valley. Scott and Kelly make plans to see the winery's in the Napa area. Festivals are so much fun, I wish I could play more.

SACRAMENTO SHOWS!

THURSDAY, AUGUST 20th - TOWN CENTER, EL DORADO HILLS
Kirk Nelson arrived on Wednesday night from San Pedro. We load the gear with the help of Brian Beal around 7pm. Mary the promoter calls to see how we are doing with everything and I am excited to say everything is a go. I have two vans and both are loaded with gear for this big weekend. We have a large JBL PA with us and Larry's brother Lex is in town from New Jersey. Lex plays percussion so we will have five musicians on stage for these two shows. The two vans and five musicians leave at 7:30 AM for El Dorado Hills with a Lunch planned for Sacramento at noon. We arrive at downtown El dorado Hills and Mary directs us to the stage area. The lay out is super. A nice concert area next to a lake with shops and restaurants. With plenty of time we set up our PA system and sound check. I get a call from Oscar in Los Angels that he has had a break up fight with his brother and is on the streets kicked out of his shared condo. This would be the beginning of a long legal fight with his brother and sister over property. The show starts and about 1,500 people are here. Big Rick drove in from Redwood City to help sell CDs and T- shirts at the radio station table. It is a big night and we are off and running. After the show i get a chance to visit with my Penn Valley friends, Joni and David. Very nice people who traveled to say hello and hear the band. We slowly pack up the gear and I thank Mary C. for the booking and wish her the best with her other productions. We are staying in Sacramento so about 45 minutes later we pull up at the Capitol hotel and check in.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 21st - BLUE ROOM IN THE CAPITOL HOTEL, SACRAMENTO
Kirk Nelson is working on songs for a show in Malibu on Sunday when I call his room to join us for lunch. We gather in the lobby and after we have lunch spend the afternoon setting up and running through songs. Nice to working in the same location as our hotel rooms. The show starts and two very good friends Sarah and Frank are here. They can dance up a storm and what a super evening to visit with them. The promoters for this event are terrific and always a pleasure to work with. The next morning the two vans are heading down highway 99 towards V-Town. Really a great weekend. Thanks Kirk nelson for youir excellent keyboard work and traveling from Los Angeles.

BAY AREA APPEARANCE!

FRIDAY, AUGUST 14th - BROADWAY LOUNGE, REDWOOD CITY
ROCKING THE HOUSE WITH BIG RICK AND FRIENDS!
Iris and Billy run a nice local bar in downtown Redwood City. I lived in Redwood City years ago and Big Rick was a neighbor across the street. We became friends at an early age and started playing guitar at the same time. We had talked about playing shows in Redwood City and found a cool bar with a stage in the Broad Way lounge. It was close by for many of our friends in the Bay area and we have done some super events there. For tonight's show Amrik Sandhu is on drums and Brian Beal on bass. We drive over highway 152 through Gilroy and meet up with Michael Buckley, a long time friend and have pizza up the street from the club. Having a good base of clubs in southern Ca., I will begin to build a footing in the Bay Area. The show is smooth and we pull up at Amrik's house about 4am.

FRIDAY, JULY 31 - SUMMER CONCERT SERIES, LEMOORE
Larry is in New York visiting his family with his wife Kathleen. Brian on bass, Mark Nelson on keys and Amrik Sandhu on drums meet in Lemoore for a concert on the old train depot downtown. It is very hot during set up, maybe 98 degrees. The temp. starts to go down and people arrive to enjoy the beer garden and summer event here. Jim Castleman is promoting and MCing at greets us with a positive vibe. Always nice to work with Kim a long time Central Valley promoter. The show goes very well with dancing and visiting. A kinda small town feel near the Lemoore Naval air base. I get a chance to talk with folks and meet a couple that have been here for years. They enjoy like here and we agree that the location is super to get to all points around California easy. Ocean, Hollywood, San Francisco all just a few hours away. As I play music I can imagine the history of this old train station that has been completely remodeled yet has it's historic look. We are on the deck were peopled gathered to wait for the trains. They still come through here for freight. I love the history of California it is everywhere.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 2 - BLUE HERON, COARSEGOLD
On a very nice summer day we drive up highway 41 to the clubhouse in Yosemite Lakes Park. This would be my last Sunday here for 2009 as the clubhouse can not afford music on Sunday's any more. Today everybody is here and after working here for three years I will miss the friends I've made here. Really nice people that have danced and enjoyed the work from the musicians. Amrik, Scott Bolsta, Brian Beal and myself play some Rockin' Blues tunes and we visit with everyone between shows. After 8pm the band loads gear and is on our way down the hill. Thank you Ray, Pat, lisa, Derek, Mike, Kelly, Laurie and so many other terrific friends for making the Sunday's here a lot of fun.

FRIDAY, JULY 24 - GILROY GARLIC FESTIVAL, GILROY
Up and on the road early. This is a fun event and we have a early slot on the stage. This is good because the temp. will be nice. Laurie is on board with Larry, brian and myself. We cross the valley and enter the festival. This is a major California festival with people from all over the world. As the band sets up, Laurie is out checking the festival vendors for the many products on sale. We launch in to our 60 min. set and draw a good crowd. The folks are enjoying this fun day and we are too. The promoters parents are here and I have worked with them for the last four years on this stage. It is terrific to see them again and we all take photos and get in to the spirit of the event. Soon we are on our way back across the valley floor and into V-town. Larry and his wife bought a new home in Fresno. We are looking at pictures from Larry's Iphone as he talks about working on his new house. I remember that feeling of excitement as you prepare to move into your new house. All the things you want to work on and change. As my nephew told me, " Take it slow".

SATURDAY, JULY 25 - HYATT HOTEL BLUES & BREWS, HUNTINGTON BEACH
Traveling south on my own today as I plan to meet the southern Ca. based musicians. Adam Gust on drums, Oscar Huguet on bass and Kirk Nelson on keys. It is very hot in Visalia during the three months of summer. Today I'm going to Huntington Beach, a cool ocean retreat. I pick up Oscar and we drive south to Seal Beach and along Highway 1 to H. B. The surfing championship is this week and the place is very crowed and full of people out for a summer good time. Everything is smooth and we set up outside on the Hyatt Hotel plaza, an amazing location with a view of the ocean and pier. There is always a wedding going on because of this view and the quality of the hotel. we are soon ripping into Blues tunes and the dancing begins. Sonjia and her Mom are here to visit with Adam. The hotel offers a BBQ buffet to go along with sitting outside on a warm summer night. This is the second time I have worked this concert series and it is a wonderful experience. Thank you to the booking agency that brings us in each year. I pack the truck and Oscar and I drive north towards Glendale almost every mile is at a crawl from traffic and late night road repairs. It does not open up until Santa Clarita and the grapevine. Wow. At one point I was on side streets because the Burbank portion of Highway 5 is stopped for miles. Around 4AM I pull into V-town and walk in to see my four cats waiting for an early breakfast. I have some rasin brand and join them while reading the LA Times. Great part of the day in the valley because it is nice and cool.

SATURDAY, JULY 11th - VINNY"S PLACE, CHOWCHILLA
After living in Visalia a year now I'm starting to get settled. I don't know if you have ever moved to a brand new city but it takes awhile to get organized again like you were. So now I am leveling out and getting back to day to day stuff. It took a lot to set up the place, unpack and get things in order. So I am feeling good and ready to move forward. Tonight Brian, Larry and I drive about an hour North to Chowchilla and see Vinny's new club. Nice place with a good sound. I'm rippin' and around midnight we got a good crowd. This club will Rock and Vinny has a lot of friends in this town.

SATURDAY, JULY 4th - CONCERTS IN THE PINES, TWAIN HARTE
This is going to be a fun day. Lots of email from friends in the area going to the show. Scott Bolsta and his wife Kelly are with friends staying in Twain Harte. Oscar Huguet is driving in from LA this morning to meet Larry and I here in V-Town. OK. More on this later I be back in a bit to finish telling you about the 4th. On with the story. Arriving early we go to the club house for lunch. The golf coarse looks great, nice and green with lots of pine trees. The food is good and we head over to set up. The stage is outside and people have already staked out their area with chairs. Scott pulls up and we sound check some tunes. By the time the show starts the crowd is growing more and more people showing up. The weather is near perfect so it is a classic Twain Harte evening. Looking out I see my good friends "The Bears" are here! Yes! I know it is going to be a good time. Linda Marie my Blues buddy is here too. The promoter is cool and has a well planned event.

SUNDAY, JULY 5th - BLUE HERON, COARSEGOLD
After a great breakfast, Oscar and I meet Larry on the way to Coarsegold. Scott Bolsta arrives from Twain Harte and we get ready for a nice afternoon here at the Blue Heron. My Visalia friends Gary and Moneka are here and we get a few minutes to catch up on all the new stuff coming to Visalia. There will be a brand new Macy's department store iopen in October. A new museum opens at Mooney park this fall too. Nearby Tulare is possibly going to be the new location for a NASCAR track. Later on the club house friends have all shown up and the good times roll. WE are kickin' out some Rockin' Blues and it is a nice feeling to get together with everybody. When we return to Visalia Oscar loads his volvo and returns to Glendale near LA. We are all getting used to making that run from Visalia to LA. It does not seem that far anymore.

FRIDAY, JUNE 19 - SKIPS BIKE NIGHT, RIVERSIDE HARLEY DAVIDSON
I'm staying at Sonjia's and Adam's house tonight so I pick up Adam on my way to Riverside. Traffic is ok, I spent the morning driving into LA from Visalia and made a stop at G.F.'s place in Beverly Hills. Oscar is meeting us at the dealership for an outside show on the lawn. It is blazing hot but cools down around 7pm. Two very nice friends are here tonight and we visit and talk about house remodeling. Once you have a house it is in endless change. The show goes well, I have been playing these BBQ's at Skips for a few years. I keep moving up on the gig circuit so next year might be my last year at many of my starting out gigs. Bob Wolfe used to run this dealership promotion and was very supportive. Around 9pm we load up and head for Venice Beach. As we pull up to Adam's place I get a call from Joe Robb, Cherokee Studios founder, long time friend. I hope to see him again, along with  his brothers Dee and Bruce they produced my records. Los Angeles is about working on your career and who you know. I am glad I moved here when I was young and built my music out of this city. Now it is time to work on bigger plans and a life change.

SATURDAY, JUNE 20th - SHORELINE VILLAGE, LONG BEACH
Up early and out the door to see Glen who manages the West Hollywood car wash. I picked up a 2005 van and I had promised I would check with him before I sold mine to someone else. We chat and he looks over my 2005. I spin over to nearby Beverly Hills and have lunch at the famous eatery The Grill. This place has been here a long time and among other movie stars was the hang out of Dean Martin. Years ago all the movie stars lived in Beverly Hills, not so much anymore. The coast like Malibu, Newport and Laguna are favorites these days. Back then all the movies were filmed near Beverly Hills at the film studios. Time to drive south on the 405, I'll stop by for a visit with Adam and Sonjia at their very cool Venice Beach house. Venice is a special beach town in the LA area. lots of cool artists, writers and musicians live in this town that has canals like the Venice in Italy. Around 3pm I'm in long beach and pop into see a movie "Hangover". This flick is very funny. At 5;30 I meet the band at Shoreline Village for set up and get ready for the show. Kirk Nelson has his whole family here since he lives in nearby San Pedro. Chris Blondel is on drums, Oscar Huguet is playing bass and the band swings. We are dockside with an amazing sunset and cool crowd. After load out I turn the truck north and fly solo across the grapevine, down into the central valley and home in V-town around 2am. Had a lot of fun today. Southern Cali Rocks!

FRIDAY, JUNE 12 - CONCERT BY THE LAKE / Yosemite Lakes Park, CORSEGOLD
The weather is cool for this time of the year. Tonight's location is in front of a lake with lawn all around for everyone to enjoy the music. The clubhouse is up a slight grade so folks on the outside deck can enjoy the music. This a family event so it is filled with children racing around and lots of visiting. Larry, Brian and I roll along playing tunes and getting a good sound with some extra gear we brought. By ten pm it is dark and by a few small lights I sign some Tee shirts and we load the gear on to the truck.

SATURDAY, JUNE 13 - TABLE MOUNTAIN CASINO, FRIANT
I enjoy this gig. Nice stage, cool stage manager and a very nice booking agent. Folks kinda of stop by for a set of tunes then head back out to gamble.
Tonight i am getting a great tone on my amp. brought a small 1x12 inch speaker cab and placed on Brian's side of the stage. Rippin', so I'm off into solo licks, and a little jamming. The crowd is feelin' it and the band starts to fly. Later we have dinner at the buffet and I admit this is one of the best buffet's. Lots of good stuff. Soon we are finishing up and moving gear through the crowds playing the machines. Cool gig. Tonight I was hearing about a new band Chicken foot. I'll check'm out.

SUNDAY, JUNE 14 - BROADWAY LOUNGE, REDWOOD CITY
Today is a big day. We meet and drive three hours to a town in the bay area that I went to school as a kid. Redwood City and a lot of friends are meeting up for a reunion. After all these years I will be seeing friends I have not seen for years. We pull in and big rick is a little down because hi son is back in county jail for a violation. He had sex with his high school girl friend who is around 17 and her parents busted little Rick. Monique is here early and she has brought Rick's mood to a better place. We set up the gear and in walks Joanne, Wow, I have not seen this very amazing girl for years. She lights the place up and of coarse all the guys are excited to see her. With Monique, another cutie and Joanne holding court the place is Rocking. My long time buddy Rod Wilson is here and soon jumps in on drums and starts slammin'! Iris the bar owner is keeping the place in order with Gina the bartender having a birthday party too. Soon the dance floor is packed and in walks my Santa Clara best friends Scott an Lynn, wow! Scott is riding with his pals so we go outside to check out the Harley's. This day is going by fast we only have the bar for three hours and the energy is so high. I get a few minutes to look at photo's with Joanne and you just can't put a lot of living into a few hours of visiting. Everybody has acomplished so much with their lives! The band is rockin' and everyone cheers Big Rick for putting this event together and we all want to do this again. I get some hugs, say goodbyes and we load the truck. I'm glad I got pictures today. I got to go back in time, lots of memories flooding back to mind. It carries me for hours as we drive along 152 and accross the valley to V-town.

After one more stop I'm on the way south to Buena Park. Check in and over to the Downtown Disney security check in gate. The truck is completely checked, we are identified and with pass in hand I drive to the back of the House of Blues. Great place downtown Disney, lots of shops, street entertainers, just a fun place to hang out. There is no cost, just park and walk around. The elevator and gear go up to the Voodoo Lounge. This is a nice restaurant bar with a cool area for the band. Oscar Huguet and Adam Gust are on Bass and Drums tonight. Oscar has brought his Mom who is in her mid 80's, she is very together and is a hit at the table. Sonjai is here tonight as well, she is very beautiful and always causes a stir with everyone in the club. Adam is crazy about her. The night is a Bluesin' good time.

A friend who lives in the area stops by and sits in on some great harp playing giving us a cool blues vibe. Thanks buddy. Things are still going strong at 1am and we pack up and head for our rooms in Livermore. Special thanks to the owners of CB's and the Railroad Cafe!

We play until 8pm, have dinner and drive back to V-town. A long, fun weekend, many miles and a chance to visit friends. Nice!

FRIDAY & SATURDAY, MARCH 20 & 21 - BLUE LAKE CASINO, BLUE LAKE
At 8am Brian, Larry and I headed north past Sacramento and towards Redding on the 5 freeway. Highway 299 turns west and runs along the Trinity River. 137 miles of 300 foot redwood trees, open rugged forest and an old amazing river.
After nine hours of road we check into a Best Western in Arcata. Small town of about 22 thousand people right on the ocean. Around 6:30 just and hour later the gear is loading into the casino. Big stage, great food and we are ready to start Bluesin'. The crowd shows up on a beautiful weather night and man we just have a ball. The folks up here get down and boogie.

Saturday we are on the coast checking out the sights and downtown Arcata. It is beautiful up here, reminds me of New England on the coast. Rugged beaches and deep green forest right up to the ocean. Wondering if the town is up for two night in a row of wild good times we get our answer as there is more folks than the previous night at the show. Over the two nights I get to meet some really nice people that welcomed us and we chatted about what to see and do in the area. Really enjoyed meeting everyone.

Sunday we get up really early and in rain drive down 101 through outstanding Redwood forests and river canyons. A truly super drive through North California. The band played great and had an awesome time. Thank you Blue Lake casino and everybody around Arcata and the nearby towns.

This is a brand new state of the art Sports blues bar. Great food and located downtown near the ball park. With two nights booked we set up not knowing what to expect. The first goes very well, with Brian, Larry, and I playing to a cool crowd of people called Creative Fresno and the regulars. The second night is a Birthday party plus the people who hang out here and like the bar. The owner is very together and the place runs smooth. During the second night a red hot blues keyboard player named Mark Nelson sits in and wows us. Really a great start for us here in Downtown Fresno.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA:

THURSDAY, FEB. 26 - HOUSE OF BLUES, ANAHIEM
VOODOO LOUNGE
I leave late in the afternoon and drive direct to Anaheim. The weather is warm and I get a great rate on room near Disneyland. Adam Gust and Brian Levine two super musicians are booked to play the shows this weekend. The food is very good at the Voodoo and the people working here are terrific and very nice. The room is full and before we start Adam's friend Sonjai joins us at the table and we all get a chance to visit. Sonjai is planning to put together an all girl Rock n Roll band. As the night starts to come alive with dancing and fun the bar is going strong until we stop. Great first night back in Southern California.

FRIDAY, FEB. 27 - CLUB HOUSE BAR AND GRILL, PLACENTIA
Up early and out the door to West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. I still have a lot of day to day people here in this part of Southern Ca. I lived here for a long time and still surprised I now live in Central Ca. Life is funny that way, how you can not really know what the future holds for you.  I see my dentist, lunch at my favorite Bev. Hills eatery, then over to Culver City to work on CD covers with the good folks that make my CDs.  After a long slow ride through thick traffic I am in the Anaheim Hills. This is a fairly new club for me yet the shows go well and everyone is very nice to me. This is an established part of Orange County with lots of long time families and a small town feel. If that is possible here in a big city. Adam and his girl Sonjai arrive early and take a run to Guitar Center because Sonjai is putting together an all girl band for herself. The show goes very good, the best here yet. My friend Steve Boock is here with another good buddy Bo.The whole night just Rocks. At 1:30am Steve and Bo help me load the truck and I start the drive, freeway to freeway working my way towards the Grapevine and over the mountains to the Central Valley. Around 5am I pull into V-town, feeling good I have something to eat and my old cat Bebo greets me. Bebo is cool and I know he likes it here in Visalia way more than in the city.

THIS SUNDAY, MARCH 1st - CENTRAL CALIFORNIA

THE BLUE HERON, COARSEGOLD!
This is my first Sunday back here in 2009. I had built up a great get together with friends on Sundays in 08. Matt Powers and Larry Donawa are with me today playing bass and drums. The weather is cool and a lot of the folks I have gotten to know are here. After dinner at the buffet everyone settles in to dance and have fun. Towards the last set everything comes together and that feeling I get playing gigs here is there. Just a Rockin' good time. The crowd mostly knows one another and it is really an honor to have become friends with such a nice group of people. One of the best places in the state of California. I always enjoy this gig.

SATURDAY, FEB. 21 - ARTE AMERICA, FRESNO
It could rain today but it has not started. John King is gonna help out and play some rippin bass at the show today. Larry and I are there early to a beautiful plaza downtown. Crystal is the promoter and a nice stage and PA are set up with a lot of riders ending a bike rally here. Food and drink and the hot sax man Scott Bolsta is riding his Harley today and joining us on stage for a big show. The PA sounds good and the weather stays nice. Downtown Fresno is filled with old buildings with lots of history. It is slowly being rebuilt with modern business ventures inside these old and very cool buildings. The streets are clean and it could be like old town Sacramento or the Gas Lamp section of old San Diego. The shows go well and John King plays some top notch bass. Thanks John!

SATURDAY, FEB. 14 - TABLE MOUNTAIN CASINO, FRIANT
Larry, Brian and I arrive at the back entrance to the casino. Once inside the place is very full. Scotty B. is on stage with us tonight playing some red hot horn. Valentines day '09 and things are good. We are on stage in the gaming main room. People are enjoying the music and it adds to the casino fun. The sound eng. is very pro so it sounds tight and full. This line up of musicians works well together so over dinner at the casino buffet there is lots of laughs and light conversation. I get a chance to visit with two ladies on break that have been living in Fresno since the mid fifties. Wow! What a lot of changes they have seen to this part of the Central Valley.

SUNDAY, FEB. 15 - LOU'S PIER 47, SAN FRANCISCO
The rain is pouring down heavy. The truck is being pushed by winds coming over the pass into Livermore. I give the four dollars to the toll station and cross the Bay Bridge. This bridge was built in the 30's and is a marvel of design. I pull up and in a downpour outside of Lou's the gear is in. A call to my friend Gil Gauck, who I played music with here in the City years ago, and we set up the gear. Lou's is empty at this time so it is mellow. During the summer three bands a day play here because there are so many people on the wharf.
Gil is in Town from South Florida with his wife visiting S.F.  We all have dinner downstairs and about two hours later the place is full and the fun begins. I am up for a Rockin' the Blues good time and after the first set play nonstop for two hours and forty minutes. Nora, Gil's wife is an excellent singer and joins us on stage for a couple of songs and then Gil, a hot drummer plays "Tore Down". Both of us had not been on stage together in years. What a blast. The place is having a rippin' lot of fun and we don't want to stop. After all the good byes the truck is on it's way to Visalia, three hours away. Around 2:30 am we are back in V-Town.

THURSDAY, FEB. 5th - CENTRAL VALLEY TALK SHOW! I will play 4 - 5 songs acoustic on Host Chuck Leonard's television show. Watch this live TV show 4pm - 6pm on channel 33. The show can be seen on Digital channel 43.3 and on the internet at Central Valley Talk.com.

I Meet Chuck outside the TV studio and we get a chance to talk before the show. Chuck moved here from San Jose and has become an avid supporter of the Fresno Music scene. We are soon ushered in to the studio with just a few minutes to set up and begin the show. The rain has been expected but has not arrived yet. We broadcast a fast paced show talking about the Central Valley, the fast growing Fresno music scene and the music business. Through out the show I play songs on my acoustic and end the show on " Black Coffee at Sunrise". Internet TV is great! This will be the future. How exciting as I got home to check emails and read email from my friends Joni and David, they saw the show on the internet quite a distance away in Penn Valley. When Chuck sends me a copy I will post some on this site.

FRI. SAT. & SUN., FEB. 6, 7, 8 -  EAGLE MOUNTAIN CASINO, PORTERVILLE

What a super weekend! A great local casino for three nights. Everybody here is very nice and welcome the band. The stage is pro and even though there is rain this weekend the crowds are here. Lots of dancing and the food is super. Larry, Brian and I drive up to this canyon and then up to the summit. Amazing mountain location. I get a chance to talk with the native American Indians who live here and learn a lot about how long this part of California has been settled. Saturday night Matt powers and Scott Bolsta are on stage with us and the band is Rocking. Matt Powers is a very talented singer/songwriter from the East coast and I always enjoy his work. After Sunday's show we head back to V-Town very glad to have added this polished Casino to the tour dates. Look forward to shows here later this year. Thanks Arnie, Louis and Eric!

SATURDAY, JAN. 31 - VINNY'S PLACE, CHOWCHILLA

I'm talking with Vinny and he says he is moving the club down the street on Robertson. Wow! This is an old building and I know vinny likes it a lot. He says the owner is giving him a hard time so he will reopen in a new location. Brian Beal, Larry Donawa and I set up and jump into the tunes. One song after another and the place is filling up, it is a pre Super Bowl party. Fun local bar, always a good time. See you at the new place on May 2nd!

SATURDAY, JAN. 24 - PINE MOUNTAIN LAKE COUNTRY CLUB, GROVELAND

Brian, Larry and I knew it was going to be a rough run in to this high mountain gold rush town. The rain had been pouring on and off and the drive up 120 is switchbacks and curves. After we arrived, inside we found a very nice Country Club full of people enjoying good food and ready for some music. The evening was smooth with a possible re-booking for March. After midnight we load the truck in pouring rain and slowly leave town. Deer are along the road in the forest, they had told of us of an all white deer that the town adopted and everyone watches out for. With fog moving in the drive off the mountain is tough, visibility limited. Even down on the back road of J59 there is rain, dark foggy conditions. We keep trucking until 99 turns into 198 and Visalia city limits. The truck arrives before 4am and we all get some rest, ready to leave in a few hours for San Francisco.

SUNDAY, JAN. 25 - LOU'S PIER 47, SAN FRANCISCO

We are on our way, stop in Tracy at the Home Town Buffet and in to the City. Running right to the minute we downbeat at 6pm. I'm in the mood to rock and after a short break we play for three hours non-stop. Partying with the crowd, guest singer from the UK and lots of dancing and sing a longs. Oh Ya! The band is ripping, we load up and drive to V-Town in around 3am.

SATURDAY and SUNDAY, JAN. 17 & 18 - MAIN LODGE, MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN SKI RESORT

Leaving early on a Saturday morning for Mojave to meet Brian Levine, Larry Donawa is at my place at 6:30am. With Brian and his gear on board we head for the mountains up 395. The weather is perfect with highs in the 50's and sunny. We drive directly to the ski lodge every minute important, down beat at 2pm. Snow everywhere and the crowd is up for a good time. The football playoffs are on tomorrow and we are soon jammin tunes in the bar of the lodge. Classic  fun as I'm rippin' I watch the hill and down hill racers making jumps. A new friend named Adam and his girl friends from Napa grab tables in the front and they start to rev up the scene. Oh Ya! The place has a fireplace, cool bar and is the place to be until 6pm when every one goes back to condos to get ready for more ski action on Sunday. We drive over to the base Camp cafe for dinner and check in to a very nice three bedroom condo for rest. I have performed shows in Aspen Colorado and with all the new stores and night spots here, Mammoth reminds me of Aspen, Mammoth is on the rise. On Sunday we had a bright sunny day. With the gear set up on the deck looking out on to the ski runs of the mountain we ripped into the tunes. The playoffs were on so on breaks I would catch a little action on theTV's. Just a super day. Around 4pm we loaded up the truck and drove Brian to Mojave so he could contiue to LA. Larry and I caught the 99 and headed North to Visalia. It had been a while since I have been in snow and what a blast to have good weather and bright clean snow. Loved it!

FRIDAY, JAN. 9 - FRESNO FOX TELEVISION SHOW "GREAT DAY" I WILL BE LIVE ON THE AIR WITH THE BAND!
Waking up at 4am to get ready and drive to Fresno for the TV show. Got a lot of rest and feel good. looking forward to an exciting morning. The musicians are on time Larry Donawa on drums, Brian Beal on Bass and Scott Bolsta on Sax. Super line up! The gear is set up from Thursday nights sound check. We are soon warming up at at 7am we go live on the air. The sound is first class as Chris the studio Eng. works on the mix.
The hosts are very nice and welcome the band to their show. We get to play the outros into station breaks plus seven full songs over three hours. The band is playing well and we work closely with the camera crew counting into the on air segments plus short interviews with the hosts before each full song. I get a chance to promote many upcoming events in this part of the state. TV is hard work but a lot of fun because of the excitement! With a group photo at the end of the show we are on our way with the gear and getting ready for the casino show tonight.

FRIDAY, JAN. 9 - CHUKCHANSI CASINO, COARSEGOLD
Checking into this super hotel and keeping the pace of a very busy day. The band meets for sound check on a nice stage with a super PA system. Anthony is working the mixing board and he is good. It takes awhile but wow it is sounding nice. Derek from the casino has hooked us up with Anthony and also gets us meal tickets. This is going to be a Rocking weekend! Scott Bolsta is playing Sax tonight and adds a terrific set of solos. We are on our way at 10pm with a lot of friends from YLP here. Special thanks to my good friends Kevin and Linda for their support!
SATURDAY, JAN. 10 - CHUKCHANSI CASINO, COARSEGOLD
Lots of football on today. Very excited about the show tonight. The sun has been out all weekend and people know in the Central Vally some days are foggy. Not this weekend, cold but sunny and nice. This casino is huge with lots of things to see and do. California casinos are a big part of the economy and offer everything that Nevada has. I meet Larry Donawa for dinner and we go over to the stage to work with Anthony on the show for tonight. Lots of people here for the show. The band is rippin' with my guitar through the PA sounding like Robin Trower. Coarsegold is a beautiful part of California, gateway to the Yosemite National park. This casino is a very comfortable place right next to vast open wilderness of Yosemite.
