THANK YOU FOR TWO VERY SUCCESSFUL SHOWS IN SAN FRANCISCO @ BISCUITS & BLUES!
The house was Rockin' with a very cool crowd !!! The sound was rippin' as the band tore into the songs from my new album Hands on The Wheel !!! Playing both my Gibson Les Paul and Fender Cherry Red Strat on songs like I'm Still Breathin', Blues Magic and the all out boogie king "The Ballad Of John Lee"!
The crowd was in with us heads, hands and feet as we all sang together on the songs, stomped out the beat and blues riffed like it was time for some Jimmy Page! The mighty Tumbleweed playing the greatest blues harmonica in California stopped the clock and left everyone speechless! Do not miss this band if they are in town near you! Huge hug to our long time friends for making so much noise and getting loud! It's what we like to do!

JANUARY 30 & FEBRUARY 1
CHUKCHANSI GOLD RESORT CASINO
SHOWROOM 9 PM
The weather is cold but not snowing. Brian and I arrive in the afternoon to check in and get the equipment in the showroom and on stage. Carrianne is the sound eng. here and having worked shows with her before we know the sound is going to be great. Michael F. a friend from Fresno stops by early and offers to help. There is a lot of excitement about our show here and the first show is very crowded with fans. Performing songs from the Hands On The Wheel album it is a great night! The showroom has a cool stage, dance floor and cool bar with lots of booths, tables and chairs.
Feb. 1st already. Wow! With the show rockin' last night we move to a second stage on the main floor of the casino for tonight's show. A huge casino like Vegas and as I look out from the height of the stage I can see thousands of people at the card tables and machines. Cool! Carrianne gets a great mix for the band and we rip into the songs one after another. Soon their is a crowd of dancers and a party is happening. The casino has several bars so it becomes a Rockin' Blues party with songs from my albums. Great to see friends from the this area and there are lots of questions about the new album Hands On the Wheel. Really a cool gig, look forward to playing a show here again.

THREE RIVERS, CA.

Three days of shows! Tonight we drive into the foothills above Visalia to a small town called Three Rivers. the gateway to Sequoia National park. The river runs behind this beautiful old restaurant & bar with a huge patio next to the river. Tonight Mark Campos is on drums with Brian and I rockin' the blues songs. The crowd is a nice local group as well as visitors from around the world visiting Sequoia park. On a break I get a chance to talk with a cool couple that just got married and are visiting California. Tomorrow they go to Southern Ca.
Cool conversation I look forward to visiting Germany sometime. With the weather nice, we have a great evening close to home.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 7
TWILIGHT CONCERT SERIES
6PM - 8PM ESPLANADE PARK
Stan, Brian and I are on our way, driving up beautiful Highway one to Capitola. We are meeting Tumbleweed at the stage. Capitola is a beautiful coastal town with a great beach with downtown right on the water. The stage is a strong pavilion structure right on the beach with plenty of lawn in front for the crowd.
We meet with the sound company that brought a great PA system and then we meet with the Mayor of Capitola. A very nice and cool person who is bringing concerts to the city. The band sets up and gets ready for a good time!
My friends from Monterey are here Rod Wilson, Mario and his wife Janet. Cool group to be bluesrockin' with! Rod has my Flip camera and films some of the show! The show is going awesome with dancing and the summer weather everyone says is the best for any concert this year! Suddenly a gust of wind hits the lighting rig and it drops right between Stan on drums and my Mesa amp stack! The stage crew rushes over. The band keeps playing and Stan is back on beat with in seconds. The place is really rockin' so we just go on with the show. After a couple of encores and with Mayor Rockin' the blues on stage with us, we say good night. It is one of the best concerts of the year! Great location and awesome crowd.

The mighty Tumbleweed joins Stan, Brian and I in Gilroy today. The weather is great as we pull up to the stage area. My friend Scott and his girl friend Lynn are here today and Scott films some of the show. Thank you Scott! The stage manager is really nice! There is a tent with water and everybody works together to make this production run smooth. The crowd is up for a good time so soon there is lots of dancing going on. I have performed at the Garlic festival since '06. One of the best festivals in the world. A true classic California experience.

Eagle Mountain Casino
This is a great stage for us. The sound is awesome, great dance crowd and my guitar has a cool sound in the room. I sometimes play the best lead work on the songs here. Often the dates are split between Stan on drums one night and Amrik on drums the next. Two great drummers!

THURSDAY, JULY 4
Out the door at dawn on our way to the California Capital Sacramento for a July 4th Celebration! We know it is going to be hot today so arriving early and setting up is great. The gear and PA ready as 100's of people are here for the bike ride to start the event. There is food and cold drinks and excitement about fireworks tonight! We are into the songs as children enjoy the park and everybody is having a great time! My friend Mike Buckley is here and points out the fire truck is originally from Twain Harte California. A small town in the Sierra's I know well. My friend Linda H. is here and we sing together on the chorus of the "Blues are alright"! Linda has a new baby grand daughter she is on her way to visit today. With the heat on and everyone excited to do their own backyard BBQ's we pack the gear in the truck and are on our way to Visalia for July 4th 2013!!!
SATURDAY, JULY 6
Paul Bunyan Mountain & Blues Festival
July 5th driving through Stockton we meet Tumbleweed at a friends house. With his Fender amp on the truck we drive north to Chico. We check in and get rest to travel into the Sierra's in the morning.
July 6th. After breakfast and with nice weather we drive into the mountains. Beautiful green with alpine lakes. Soon we are at the festival. Events are going on with log cutting, vendors of all styles, food and a cool stage for the bands. The festival this year is much bigger than last year. This is a small town, Westwood, with a history in the logging and a Mill. Great place to live! We set up and rip into the songs, dancing and good times late into the afternoon. I wish we were staying here longer but we have to return to Visalia. With the gear on board we return to Stockton first to get Tumbleweed back to his car and then on to V Town for us.

SATURDAY, JUNE 29
12455 Steiner Road
Today we are on our way to a nice winery in Amador county. Brian, Amrik and I get an early start and arrive to set up outside under a tent. We are near the tasting room and there is a BBQ planned for the guests. We are playing songs from the new album, many I often don't play. Some songs on the album just make an it easy to add to the live show, other take a lot of work. The beat or groove works for dancing helps while other songs need to be practiced a lot to sound as good as the recording. As the afternoon show is ending it is really hot outside. I'm thinking above 102 degrees. We quickly load up the gear, get some cold water and enjoy being in the truck for the ride home. Winery shows are some of my favorite. Location and people are wonderful!

BLUES, BREWS & BBQ
SIERRA SKY RANCH
Benefitting Boys & Girls Club Of Oakhurst
Stan, Brian and I drive north on highway 41 to where we get near the entrance to Yosemite National Park. After the town of Oakhurst we pull off this beautiful mountain road and into the parking lot for an old lodge with lots of trees and a big lawn. There is a nice stage and people have gathered to have a BBQ dinner and support their local Boys & Girls club. The evening is a cool temp. at this high elevation and the show is under the stars like music at a campground. The band has dinner and really enjoys performing music at this wonderful location. I take some time to checkout the lodge with it's beautiful grand room with fireplace, photos from the past and hallways of redwood. Just a super place filled with California history. Glad we got to visit the Sierra Sky Ranch. Fitting name.

SATURDAY, JUNE 22
JAZZIN' IT UP IN JACKSON
6pm - Main Street
Stan, Brian and I arrive in the afternoon around 4pm. It is hot in the sun and we have to set up slow as we are in a parking lot between buildings. We set up close to Main street right at the entrance to the lot. Main Street will be closed so there will be dancing in the streets! Dave Holob (monster violin player) is here and he has been very kind to bring a pop up tent to cover were we are playing plus carpets. This is very important since I don't know how we would have worked until the sun went down. I will say that Gail the promoter is very kind and opened her next door air conditioned office to us. Gail is super and makes this event happen in a big way. Lots of people are here! The band is rippin' through the tunes and people are dancing and singing on the chorus to the songs. Big Rick and his son Ricky are here from Redwood City with friends. Towards the end of the night a young guitar player and his Dad ask if they can sit in. The young guitar player is in his teens and can play good. Crowd enjoys his hard work and gives him lots of support. With everyone into a good time we climb higher and higher with each song. Dancing and singing together until the event has to close and we give them back Main Street in Jackson. Wow what a lot of fun! Big Rick and Ricky help us load the truck as we slowly prepare to drive home to Visalia. Thank you Dave Holob for all your help on this show!

EVENT CENTER 12 noon - 3pm
HOT RODS AND BBQ FESTIVAL
The weather report is for a very HOT weekend! Amrik Sandhu along with brian Beal and Scott Bolsta are in the Black Stallion F-150 driving north. it is a cool line up of musicians for the next two shows. It is friday night and we are checking into the hotel the day before to be ready early Saturday for two shows in one day. Up early and the event is happening. Lots of classic Hot Rods fill the parking lots on display. Inside the event center Harley show bikes are roped off and we are on a nice stage. Sound check and into the show. I get a chance to visit with friends here from nearby cities. I love that about my job meeting and visiting with music friends I have met over the years. Often they enjoy dancing and come see the band to dance. After the show we are out into the heat. Wow, it it hot today! The temp. on the truck says outside 112 degrees! We are driving east towards Penn Valley two hours from the casino. The next show is at Pilot Peak winery.

SATURDAY, JUNE 8 (night)
Dinner and Dancing under the stars!
Saturday, June 8 – Pilot Peak Winery, Penn Valley
The band is arriving with just enough time to set up, have a quick dinner and start the show. It is very hot and this is an outside show. The food is excellent and the person that puts these concerts together is very nice to work with. Over the years I have made lots of friends in this part of California. Tonight I look forward to visiting with many of them. Scott Bolsta's family is here tonight, they live in the area. Joni and David are here with friends. The band is rippin' into the songs with lots of dancing. The night has cooled down the hot day in to a beautiful summer's evening. Lots of fun to party with folks in Penn Valley! At one point towards the end of the show, Joni is singing with me on the song Midnight Hour! I love that song by Wilson Picket! After the show we meet in the tasting room with the winery owners to say thank you for a wonderful evening. They are very nice to us and offer a bottle of wine to each musician to take home. Soon we are traveling down the highway towards Visalia. Two fun shows in one day!
Saturday, May 25th, 2013 10:44 PM PDT
WEDNESDAY MAY 29
CONCERT IN THE PARK - TULARE, CA.
Kirk Nelson and his wife Carrol arrive in Tulare with plans of traveling together for our shows this week. The park has a great stage that was built years ago and has had musicians from all over the country perform on during their visit. A musician opens the show with a solo performance on trombone of the Star Spangled Banner. He tells the crowd that John Philip Souza performed here in Tulare during a tour. Wow! To night Oscar, Sergio, Kirk and I have a warm evening and nice crowd to hear the songs from Blues Magic album. The promoter is very cool and we are excited about local press covering the show. After a super night we all go over to Denny's restaurant on Mooney Blvd. in Visalia. Great eats and a fun night!
THURSDAY MAY 30 -
BISCUITS & BLUES - SAN FRANCISCO, CA.
Out the door and on our way to the City! Soon after we get on highway 5 near Los Banos. The truck dash gauge indicates low tire and we have a flat tire about to happen. There is a truck stop at the next off ramp so we pull in to change tires. Time is tight so the crew puts it up on a high speed jack changes the tire and we are on our way within minutes. Lucky location to lose a tire. Back on the road to S.F. We arrive downtown and meet up with Tumbleweed and Kirk. Great band! Set up, sound check and have dinner. The load in of gear is off a busy street, however there is an alley next to the club you can pull into. Then down an elevator across the showroom to the stage. Everybody that works at Biscuits is super nice and know you have been traveling to get there.
FRIDAY, MAY 31 -
APCAL WINERY - MADERA, CA.
The last show in a series of shows that Sergio and Oscar a tight bass and drum unit have been working. Stan and Brian have been on vacation and it has been super to work with these two pro musicians! I had traveled to Los Angeles to rehearse with them and they had traveled to Visalia to rehearse with me. They were wonderful guests at my home and I enjoyed talking and working the shows with them a lot. The sound at the show was rock solid with deep dance grooves.
Today we drive about an hour north of my house in Visalia to a beautiful winery. Great open lawn, huge valley oak tree in the center. The original house has been changed to a wine room and the big patio is our stage. Lots of food and folks are here for a beautiful night of good weather and dancing under the stars. The band is playing excellent our third show in as many nights. When we get home we all enjoy sitting around the patio at my house late into the night talking. My huge cat Mr. D takes a place at the table and seems to enjoy being with the guys. We are all feeling good about five Blues Rockin' shows in May. Good work Sergio and Oscar! Thank you for being here.
Saturday, May 11th, 2013 7:02 PM PDT
THURSDAY, MAY 23 - CHEF'S MARKET, NAPA
Brian and Stan take a vacation for two weeks from the shows. Oscar Huguet on bass and Sergio Gonzalas on drums learn the songs and join me in traveling to work the shows. Our first show together as a trio. I have to back track for a bit and add this bit to the story. I have known Oscar for a long time, we have done lots of shows together. He has also toured with Michael Burkes a famous blues guitar player, so when Oscar told me Sergio was a hot drummer I knew Suge was gonna be cool for these shows. I traveled to Los Angeles a month before the first show to meet and rehearse. I was in the studio during the day and left to meet Oscar and Sergio at a North Hollywood rehearsal studio. Driving over the 405 Sepulveda pass a tire on my truck just blows up from something that pierced it. I had a bit of scare trying to get to a place to pull over. There was no shoulder due to construction. I was driving on the rim and finally I see a place to pull into a contruction yard that was off the freeway. Glad it was a back tire. The rim was shot and tire was gone completely. I passed on that rehearsal because of the time it took to get up and running and I also had to drive three hours back to Visalia. They both said that they would drive up to Visalia on a Sunday and we would put the show together at my place. I did end up in LA again for a mastering session on the album and we got a second rehearsal in at a Van Nuys rehearsal studio. It was rockin' and everybody was looking forward to these shows. Five shows all together. Ok back to today. I am in contact with Harrison Flynn a hot young guitar player from the East Bay, so I invited Harrison to sit in with us in Napa.
The crowd has a great time tonight and towards the end of the show a hot harmonica player joins us on the last two songs. As we load the gear on the truck I have a nice conversation with Harrison's parents about the music business and his plans for the future. This is a tough business and they are all thinking about the future. Sergio, Oscar and I drive back to Visalia, they are staying at my place for this weeks shows.
FRIDAY, MAY 24 - DELORIMIER WINERY, HEALDSBURG
The next morning we are relaxing around my place talking about music and the news that Sergio just bought his first house. This is my first house and there is so much to learn about maintaining a house. We are sitting on the patio with my big cat Tank. Everybody likes Tank, he is about 17 pounds and is very friendly. Likes to sit near everybody. He is a big body cat with huge paws, his type of cat came from the snow county, maybe northern Europe. Soon we are on the road to the wine county of Healdsburg. Through the Bay Area and out into the country north of San Francisco. We arrive set up and get a nice dinner from this super winery. They have an outdoor lawn and BBQ area that allows everyone to enjoy dinner, dance and look out at the fields of grape vines. All the wine is made here so it is a famous location with a wonderful vibe. By the end of the night there is a lot of dancing and singalongs as the weather is perfect and there is a huge full moon tonight. We are on our way with a case of amazing wine and plans to be back for next year.
Monday, May 6th, 2013 8:38 AM PDT
FRIDAY, MAY 10 - KSEE CONCERT SERIES, CLOVIS, CA.
As the stage is being built we arrive at 4th and Pollasky. They bring the stage in a truck in sections and lock them together. The PA system is run by Gene Day who does good work on sound. Scott Bolsta on sax is playing with the band tonight. Super sax and has performed at my shows since '05. The TV host is AJ Fox who calls the weather for KSEE TV. The temperature is warm but not hot as projected in the next couple of days. The streets are lined with vendors selling produce and snacks. Lots of families, kids and people have brought folding chairs early to get a good spot to watch the show.
We sound check on Cool Runnin' from one of my early albums and Gene dials in the sound. Then after an introduction the band charges into the songs. Warming up on each song, getting used to the sound mix and settling in. There are a lot of people here and it is great to play a big show close to Visalia. After the first show my long time friend Robert C. and his daughter Crystal along with her date Russ say hello. Nice surprise! We visit and Crystal is excited about graduation from Cal State Fresno University!
With the next show blazing along suddenly I break a string on my Strat guitar on the Ballad of John Lee. I pick up my Les Paul which i rarely play at shows and move into the next song. The sound on my amps is set for the strat so there is adjustment needed but I can only work from my guitar controls. With maybe 20 minutes left I look at the set list and play the songs that might work best for the Les Paul guitar. It goes well with some small issues and we bring the show to a close at 8:30. You always feel the need to play well at a show this big. After the gear is in the truck we are on our way. Feeling good about playing local and having it be a success! Thank you to KSEE TV for booking us! The crowd was awesome and very supportive. Central Valley is a good place to live.

RIVERVIEW, THREE RIVERS
First show back after jamming with Jeff Beck in Las Vegas. Rippin' on guitar with Stan Hack and Brian Beal. Great crowd tonight, with lots of dancing. Thank you to my Three Rivers friends! The weather is great and we are playing lots of songs from Blues Magic album. I am playing through two 50 watt Mesa heads into a stereo Mesa cab. Brian left his back up Bass at the club. A bit of worry over night, but it is there in the morning when he calls. Later he lets me know he has it back in Visalia. Makes for a great gig!
Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013 6:12 PM PDT
SATURDAY, APRIL 6
ETHEL'S OLD CORRAL
4310 ALFRED HARRELL HIGHWAY
12:30PM - 4:30PM
This is a great time of year in the Central Valley! Today Stan, Brian and I drive south to Bakersfield. This event is a motorcycle rally to raise money to fight cancer. Early show as the riders come in from the run there will be music and BBQ on the patio. The location is Ethel's Old Corral and it is an historic road house on the edge of town. This small town north of Bakersfield is called Oil Town. There are miles of oil pumps pulling oil from the ground like Texas or Oklahoma. At one point in history this was a boom town that brought thousands of people here looking for work. Bakersfield to the south became Nashville West with Buck Owens and Merl Haggard leading the way with music hits on the radio. These days it still pumps lots of oil but is a quiet town for people who work in Bakersfield. Ethel's still has the corral out back and lots of people ride their horse here for a cold drink. It is a classic Central California Valley location with, food, drink, patio, open gravel parking and bike riders
Today the show goes really well, with money for a good cause raised and everyone enjoying a fun afternoon.
Sunday, March 10th, 2013 5:54 PM PDT
FRIDAY & SATURDAY MARCH 29 & 30
EAGLE MOUNTAIN CASINO
SUMMIT ROOM STAGE
Stan Hack on drums and Brian Beal on bass for these shows. With a batch of brand new songs to play! The dancing is so strong we can't stop the music! Playing 90 minutes our first set! This is a great weekend with a visit from my Bakersfield guitar friend Metal John. The weekend goes by fast when you have lots of new songs to work on for the summer shows.
Sunday, March 3rd, 2013 2:15 PM PST
FRIDAY & SATURDAY MARCH 8 & 9
CHUKCHANSI GOLD RESORT & CASINO
Great to be here at this awesome casino near Yosemite! The stage is in the center of the casino near the Hil-Le bar. Cool crowd with lots of action. The casino provides a pro sound system and engineer so it rocks the bar area. Stan, Brian and I are kicking out the tunes for two nights staying at the casino hotel. Brian goes back to Visalia Friday night to take care of stuff during Saturday before the show. The weather is cool but not cold, nice time of the year. Friends from near by Coarsegold and Yosemite Lakes Park stop by to dance and say hi. These gigs are good for my playing because you are getting a lot of guitar work in during the four hours working. It goes by quick playing lots of songs. I introduce songs from my albums along with well known cover songs too and it gives me a chance to get deeper into the singing. Everybody that works here is very nice to the musicians. Great casino!
Thursday, January 31st, 2013 10:21 AM PST
SATURDAY, MARCH 2 - MICKEY'S IN LEMMORE
9pm. DANCE FLOOR / COOL CROWD
Stan, Brian and I work a local area gig. This is a popular bar about a half hour from Visalia. Two towns over on the 198 highway. There is a very famous Naval air base near here. The top US military jets are based here to protect the west coast. The town also has a well known casino called Tachi palace. They put on concerts and the town is surrounded by fields for Ag. The local crowd knows each other and enjoys spending time relaxing with some beer and good songs.

SAMMY'S IN ROSEVILLE, CA.
Kirk Nelson is in Visalia to record keys on The Road Back To you. I am remixing this song and plan to release it later this year as a new single. It is perfect timing because he will be with Stan, Brian and I at the Sammy's show. It is cold but no really really cold as we all drive to Roseville for the show. The club is downtown Roseville and has a nice stage and good food. We load in after checking into our hotel and getting rooms. The food is great and I have friends here tonight. Big Rick is here from Redwood City and Joni h. brought a friend with her from Penn Valley. We all meet up at a table to say Hey and talk. Joni has a new car she drove here in tonight. The band starts and we rip into the tunes. Nice PA system has all the instruments mic'ed up and the band soon gets folks on the dance floor. The owner of the club called the Torch club is here to enjoy some rippin' Blues guitar. With the show going great we cruise to a close and load up to go over to the hotel. Nice to start the year with a cool gig! The next day we have a great breakfast and are back in Visalia. Kirk is always cool to have with us at the shows. He plays great blues keys and I have worked shows with him back to 2005.
Sammy's Rockin' Island Bar and Grill is the latest Sammy Hagar restaurant that offers your favorite pub foods and Hawaiian selections with island flair. Try our Raw Crudo Bar or a signature cocktail with Sammy Hagar's own rum label, Sammy's Beach Bar Rum at our two full bars. Sammy’s Rockin’ Island Bar and Grill is a spectacular new oasis in the heart of Roseville, CA.
